Through the careful work done by educationalists and medical staff who even come up to families mothers and fathers are tracked down who suffer from tuberculosis. Because of feeling ashamed and having money problems these people do not go to see a doctor.
Last december there was a case of one mother with three children, the father unemployed. She striked the teacher's attention by her extreme thinness.

The Peru-Aid was asked for help. A thoroughly medical check-up was done which confirmed the tuberculosis. The costs of the medical treatment, the necessary medicine and the six-month therapy with vitamin-packed food under medical control will be covered by the Peru-Aid.
We are certain that the woman will recover soon to concentrate herself again on looking after her family.
